It been said that this week was going to be the "Indian Summer" and big snows next week.... however, this morning is still poor and not sunshine at all ... Never mind!I am getting used to.

So I dress nice and getting off soon to London to meet one of my friend Juby, together we will join the talk "A very fashionable Life" by ELLE DECORATION and with design legend BARBARA HULANICKI http://www.barbarahulanickidesign.com/ and editor-in-chief MICHELLE OGUNDEHIN. Había oido que esta semana iba a hacer un tiempo espectacular, el llamado "Indian Summer" y la semana que viene, mucha nieve !.... sin embargo, esta mañana amaneció con niebla y sin sol!! Creo que me estoy acostumbrando.

Aún así, me he vestido trendy y me voy a Londres con mi amiga Juby. Nos vamos a disfrutar de una muestra en Interior Design y al evento "A very fashionable Life" by ELLE DECORATION con la legenda BARBARA HULANICKI http://www.barbarahulanickidesign.com/ y la editora de ELLE UK, MICHELLE OGUNDEHIN. Desde Biba en los años sesenta a los proyectos de interiorismo en Miami.

I found an ART Studio near home :-)

On my way - near home

Last Friday, reading the local paper, I found an interesting advert "Exhibition of Contemporary Artwork at Fairlands Valley Farmhouse" which is a nice walk from our home. It has been weird because recently I dream of painting again and heard a voice telling me: "paint, paint, paint". I was so happy in my dream, so maybe this was a "sign" ;-)

So I took my camera and walk towards the Farmhouse. On my walk I found inspiring colors and patterns to work with and by entering the house, it feel like entering another era and time, very special. Every artist was open to talk and I had rewarding talks and all of them, encourage me to join the Studios, which I think (i strong feel) i should do.

Tina Reid, a Visual Artist http://www.tinareid.moonfruit.com/#, was the first approaching and very enthusiastic woman. Interesting paintings & drawings which captivate me.

Suzy Drake, Artist & Tutor http://www.suzydrake.com/, attracted me by her floral and African paintings, which are full of color and texture. 

Marlene Tanti, Ceramic Artist http://www.marlenetanticeramics.com/gallery.html, has an extraordinary selection of pieces. Great work.

Joanna Atherton, Pottery Artist http://www.potspotspots.co.uk/, who create pots and lovely nice beads.

And Patrick Joyce, a Ceramic Artist http://www.patrickjoyce.co.uk/, who invite me to join him sometime to "give-it-a-try" in their Pottery & Ceramics Studio. He was very kind, and show me around. Lovely pieces and Japanese inspired vases.

Dónde me senté a meditar...

 El pasado Viernes, leyendo el periódico local, encontré un anuncio interesante "Muestra de Arte Contemporáneo en Fairlands Valley Farmhouse" Lo cual es un bonito paseo desde casa. Es extraño, porque recientemente soñé que pintaba y una vocecita me decía: "pinta, pinta, pinta". Se me veía tan feliz en mi sueño, que quizás ésto sea una "señal" ;-)

Así que cogí mi cámara de fotos y me fui paseando hacia allí. Durante mi paseo encontré colores que me inspiran de nuevo a crear, incluso cuando entré en la casa, me sentí como si entrara en otra época. 

Hablé con casi todos los  artistas, compartiendo opiniones y experiencias y todos me animaron a unirme al Studio, lo que siento muy fuerte y creo que debería hacerlo.

Ha sido una experiencia maravillosa!

It is nothing better than a Deck Chair

El pasado domingo disfrutaba de la puesta de sol mientras leía las páginas de un nuevo libro "La Geometría de la Pasta" que me ha regalado mi novio recientemente. Estaba sentada en nuestra bonita deck chair (silla de playa) aunque aquí la gente las utiliza también en los parques, a mi me encanta! porque tiene diferentes posiciones y es muy fácil de transportar ;-)

Driving in UK...

Driving in UK... It is all a great experience! 

I recently started and I am now getting used to with all the speed limits and the Highway code, which is different from the Spanish one. There are still some similarities and it always helps have some previous driving experience... however, it gets time to get use to drive in the opposite side of the road, in the other side of the car with the gear on the left and very interesting are the roundabouts which in UK there are plenty of them to practice ;)
 

Moreover, I am getting addicted to drive as I missed so much, and getting any opportunity when it comes. Still learning as here they took it really serious. For example, you cannot drive a car if you are not insurance within it and drive by the lane you choose, not like in Madrid, that it is totally chaos. 
Three books are necessary: 1. The official driving manual, 2. The official driving test and 3. The Highway Code. Although, having previous experience in driving, only the third is really a MUST for me. Happy driving!!

Conducir en UK... es toda una experiencia! 

Recientemente he empezado a conducir por estas tierras y empiezo a acostumbrarme a los límites de velocidad y al Código de Circulación, el cual es diferente al Español. Hay algunas cosas similares y siempre ayuda el haber conducido antes... sin embargo, se necesita tiempo para adaptarse a conducir por la izquierda y en el lado opuesto al conductor, con la palanca de cambios a tu izquierda. Muy interesantes, son las rotondas, las cuales son muy populares en Inglaterra, así que mejor para practicar ;) 
 

Además, me está gustando porque lo echo mucho de menos, lo cual cuando hay oportunidad, me lanzo a conducir. Todavía estoy en fase de aprendizaje, porque aquí se toman las cosas muy en serio. Por ejemplo, no puedes conducir ningún coche si no estás asegurado con él y en cuanto, a los carriles, no puedes cambiar sin indicarlo... así que conducir por Madrid en comparación es caótico!

Existen tres libros imprescindibles: 1. The official driving manual, 2. The official driving test and 3. The Highway Code. Y como yo tengo ya experiencia previa, sólo necesito leer el tercero. Feliz conducción!!

Yoga_with_Renay

Mine recommendation

Since last November I am practicing Yoga with Renay (twice a week) and it has been a fabulous experience.  She came into my life just by chance while a was having a coffee in a sunshine winter morning and since then, I have been loyal to her as I love her classes. We connect in many ways, spiritually and personally.
When I had my cast on, she helped me with some tips and soft exercises to heal my hand and do not stop my practice. Renay also lend me great books to read.
She is very caring and her classes are full of insights, different one to another and in combination with meditation and breath techniques. I feel so lucky!

Desde el pasado mes de Noviembre practico yoga con Renay (dos veces a la semana) y tengo que decir que está siendo una gran experiencia. Conocí a Renay, por casualidad una mañana soleada de invierno, mientras tomaba un café y desde entonces, he sido leal con ella porque me encantan sus clases. Además conectamos muy bien, tanto en el plano espiritual como en el personal. 

También cuando estuve escayolada, Renay me ayudó con algunos consejos y ejercicios más suaves para poder continuar con mi práctica. Además de dejarme unos libros interesantes para leer. 

Renay es muy cariñosa y sus clases están llenas de consejos, y diferentes unas de otras, combinadas con ejercicios de respiración y meditación. Me siento realmente afortunada!
