Have you realised that it is "raining doodles"? Everywhere you go they is a doodle print, even in Fashion walks as Aarti Vijay Gupta did for her winter/festive 2012. 

A doodle is an unfocused drawing made while a person's attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes. This could be a new big trend for textile print designers. Check your note books and see if you can make a "doodle pattern" out of any of your "unfocused" drawings. And keep enjoying the doodle movement!

Un "doodle" es un dibujo hecho mientras la atención de una persona está en otra parte. Doodles son dibujos sencillos que pueden tener un significado figurativo concreto o simplemente pueden ser formas abstractas.  

Ésto podría ser una nueva tendencia importante para los diseñadores de impresión textil. Revisar vuestros libros de notas y ver si se puede hacer un "patrón textil" de sus dibujos. Y a seguir disfrutando del movimiento doodle!

Today, Vintage clothes are somewhat highly coveted in the UK and in alternative neighborhoods across the country, find a retro movement that recalls famous British past times.

The Grassmarket in Edinburgh is a colorful and creative historic area of town. Famous and adored by his boutique vintage, is the ideal place to find hard to find parts.

Last but not least, the hot springs are vintage London area Portobello west and east of Brick Lane. In both areas you will find huge mounted street markets each weekend with stalls full of vintage clothing, while the surrounding streets are home to independent shops in the same colorful style.

Moments of Inspiration

Last Saturday I was in Old Spitafields Market with my sister and we really enjoyed. I like to go there time to time to look at the stalls and the shops around as there are full of inspiration. However, one of the things I miss from the market is "the real spirit of the market" that now turn into a commercial emplacement. First time I came to England in 2001 was a real "street market with stalls here and there". I bet this is kind of evolution, which in this case, killed the real atmosphere of the place.

In fact, the emplacement was a Roman cemetery in AD 300/400. And in 1197 ‘The priory of St. Mary of the Spittle’, a medieval hospital, is founded: the first part of the name ‘Spitalfields’ derives from the word ‘hospital’, which to the medieval mind was understood as ‘hospitality’, a place of rest as well as medicine. Later in 1666 following the Great Fire of London, thousands of displaced people camp on the Spital Fields.

El pasado sábado estuve en el mercado de Spitafileds con mi hermana y nos encantó. Me gusta ir allí cada cierto tiempo para mirar los diferentes puestos y tiendas de los alrededores, ya que están llenos de inspiración. Sin embargo, una de las cosas que echo de menos en el mercado es "el su verdadero espíritu" porque ahora lo han convertido en un emplazamiento comercial. La primera vez que llegué a Inglaterra en 2001 fue un verdadero "mercado de la calle con puestos aquí y allá". Apuesto a que ésto es una evolución, que en este caso, destruyeron la atmósfera real del lugar.

De hecho, el emplazamiento fué un cementerio romano en el año 300/400 AD. Y en 1197 se fundó "El priorato de Santa María de la saliva, un hospital medieval. El nombre de 'Spitalfields' deriva de la palabra 'hospital', que para la mentalidad medieval se entendía como "hospitalidad", un lugar de descanso, así como la medicina. Más tarde, en 1666, tras el gran incendio de Londres, miles de personas desplazadas, montaron un campamento en los campos de Spital.

The Material Lab

One day my cousin Yolanda took me into the magical world of Material Lab, where I go time to time as a place for inspiration. 

It has become an established design resource studio in London where people can explore and be inspired by a huge range of materials, such as ceramics, glass, wallpaper, wood, carpet tiles, eco-resins and fabrics.

On top of that, they have an entire shelf full of Interior Design magazine and Trend Books mainly for Home Design, although it is an inspirational place in many ways.

They have an area in the studio to sit and check the different material. As well as a serie of tile shelves with awesome finishes and particular textures.

The staff is also very helpful, kind and welcome to answer any queries or help you.

It is a MUST stop for designers any kind and specially for those working in Interior Design.

They have also a BLOG which encomprises several areas.

Un día mi prima Yolanda me llevó al mágico mundo Material Lab dónde voy cada cierto tiempo a inspirarme.

Este lugar se ha convertido en un estudio de diseño de recursos, donde las personas pueden explorar e inspirarse gracias a una gran variedad de materiales, como cerámica, vidrio, papel pintado, madera, baldosas de moqueta, eco-resinas y tejidos.

Además de eso, tienen toda una estanteria llena de revistas sobre Diseño de Interiores, y libros de tendencias, es un lugar de inspiración de muchas maneras.

Tienen una zona para sentarse y ver los diferentes materiales. Como también una serie de estanterías de baldosas con acabados impresionantes y particulares texturas.

El personal es muy servicial, amable y abierto a responder cualquier pregunta o ayudarte.

Es una parada obligatoria para diseñadores y en especial para Áquellos que trabajan en Diseño de Interiores.

También tienen un BLOG que destaca varias áreas.
